Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager – Burlington, Iowa

Carl A. Nelson & Company has an immediate fulltime opening for a Project Engineer/ Assistant Project Manager to work on location at one of our job sites in Iowa.

The position is responsible for assisting Project Management with all aspects of construction contracts, cost controls, administrative and technical management, including but not limited to interfacing with clients, scheduling, managing subcontractor and supplier progress and payments, administering change orders, estimating, and working with on-site Superintendents.   Qualified candidates will have a Construction Engineering degree with strong computer skills and familiar with construction scheduling and estimating software.  Previous construction management experience and experience in healthcare construction are preferred but not required.

Construction Superintendent – Burlington, Iowa

Carl A. Nelson & Company has an immediate fulltime opening for a Construction Superintendent to work on location at one of our job sites in Iowa.

The position is responsible for all aspects of on site construction management and leadership.  Oversee total construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.  Position includes interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, subcontractors, and the public.  Superintendents also lead and assist with implementation/interpretation of safety and OSHA programs; provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required, and; ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards are adhered to.  Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of construction supervisory experience in the healthcare industry.  Strong computer skills and familiarity with construction scheduling software are preferred but not required.
