HEALTHCARE CONSTRUCTION

Davis County Hospital

Bloomfield, Iowa

Davis County Hospital, a critical access hospital, chose Carl A. Nelson & Company to be their Construction Manager for adding a 5,000 s.f. addition, finishing out a 14,000 s.f. shell space, and remodeling 2,000 s.f. of existing hospital. The new and remodeled spaces included a 25 bed acute care department, pharmacy, LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum), emergency department, and a new dining space.

Carl A. Nelson & Company completed the project while working in and around a functioning hospital. As a result, the project was divided into two phases to allow for the relocation of the receiving dock with minimal disruption to hospital services. The project duration lasted 13 months.

Carl A. Nelson & Company created bid packages to maximize local bidder participation-resulting in three prime contracts within 20 miles of the project.
