Great River Medical Center

Carl A. Nelson & Co. led the design-build effort of the Great River Medical Center (GRMC) Expansion in West Burlington, Iowa. The GRMC Expansion added Heart & Vascular, Digestive Health, Behavioral Health, Inpatient Rehab, a shell space, and a courtyard to a fully operational hospital. To shorten the duration of the project, Carl A. Nelson & Co. used a “fast-track” delivery method which allowed construction to begin prior to the completion of the drawings.

Great River Medical Center Expansion received recognition as the 2006 Outstanding General Construction Project by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Iowa Chapter. Click on the following links to learn more about what made this project unique;
